CPX Sports: Living Legends 7 – Another SCARPZ & AZTEK Adventure!
There is an event in the United States of America that has been heard in almost every paintballer’s ear. I am from Canada, and even we are aware! Playing paintball regularly since 2010 I have visited a fair amount of fields & big games. Beginning in London, Ontario the first one I ever attended was at Flagswipe Paintball for Day of the Dead 9. Soon after I added a few more to my list – with the player-cards now hanging by lanyards from my doorknob. Some of my most memorable include Flag Raiders: D-DAY, Canadian Carnage, PRZ: Asylum Warzone & many more! It takes a decent amount to impress me, especially with paintball events. I like them to be articulately planned & operated, running on-time with missions delivered on schedule, great paint, excellent refs & at an awesome field. Viper Paintball & CPX Sports do all that! I continued to hear about Living Legends, throughout my 2012 & 2013 season. Around April of 2013 I was asked by AZTEK to join him at Living Legends 6 at CPX Sports in Joliet, Illinois – just outside Chicago. I had searched the event in YouTube. After viewing one video, a creative piece of art by HK Army I was convinced on going!
I hitched a ride with AZTEK, Chuck & a few members of Ontario’s S.A.S. as we rode down with a convoy of vehicles for my first time at CPX Sports & Living Legends, this being the 6th edition! We camped out, as did over a thousand other dedicated players! The weather was very warm. I met a lot of great new paintballer’s who made the experience so much better!
This year Patrick “AZTEK” Boulanger asked if I would like to go to Living Legends (7) again, he picked me up on his way from Toronto, ON as he passed through London. We made our route through the Sarnia border crossing, having no trouble from the kind guards. An approximately 7 hour journey for me, reminiscing on last years weekend adventure it is well worth it! We joined the New Empire after fighting for The Horde in LL6.
In the photo below AZTEK & SCARPZ are eating breakfast to get energized for the big day while sporting their awesome Aztek Custom Paintball Helmets as they stay at The Hampton Inn (an excellent place, 25 minutes away from CPX Sports Living Legends which is somewhat far but its right on the highway so you can zip there easily. It’s closer to us for our arrival and departure home. We like the accommodations, indoor pool, clean, well-serviced rooms with friendly helpful staff).
Anxious to get to the field, we arrived early on Friday for the mag-fed games, we were only planning to participate in the regular big game Saturday & Sunday. Found the same spot to setup our tent as we had done last year, the flashbacks were already filling my mind. Happy to be back at CPX Sports for Living Legends, they make you feel like family and at home during the event. The staff, vendors, refs & players are all friendly and fun which make the weekend a blast! Mike of TechPB was our General, with Wolf & Citrus Connection helping lead squads. They did a phenomenal job as usual, on-and-off the field! The Sector 57 Helots, S.A.S. Illinois (Including Falcon & Killswitch), & the boys from Kansas City (Jaren & Chris) joined us on the Blue team, awesome people to hangout & play with.
